Aortic valve replacement after a Bentall procedure

Porcine valve failure after a Bentall procedure presents a particularly
challenging situation for cardiothoracic surgeons. We describe a patient
who was initially turned down for operative intervention because of the
excessive operative risk involved, but who subsequently underwent
successful valve replacement without removal of the aortic conduit.
