A method used clinically for anastomosing the pulmonary veins to the left
atrium, in the absence of a left atrial cuff, during single-lung
transplantation by reconstructing the atrium with pericardium is described.
Postoperative ventilation/perfusion scans show normal pulmonary blood flow.
