Cardiovascular Surgery Department, Yuksek Ihtisas Hospital, Ankara, Turkey.
We report an unusual outcome of an ascending aorta aneurysm ruptured into
the main pulmonary trunk. After successful emergency repair, an acute
respiratory distress syndrome developed perioperatively and complicated the
postoperative period. The patient could not be weaned from mechanical
ventilation for a long time. The patient was discharged on the 62nd day of
admission in good condition.
