HD Short
Three patients suffered permanent neurologic injury after oxidized
regenerated cellulose migrated into the spinal canal after thoracotomy.
These cases are reported to alert surgeons of this potential complication
when oxidized cellulose is used to achieve hemostasis in the posterior
angle of the thoracotomy incision.
