Use of pericardium to control bleeding after ascending aortic graft replacement

We present the case of a patient who required replacement of an ascending
aortic composite graft for endocarditis complicated by uncontrollable
bleeding from the proximal anastomotic site. A new method of creating a
right atrial-to-periprosthetic space fistula with autologous pericardium
was used with a favorable result.
